The pygmy grass blue (Zizula hylax)

Zizula hylax pygmaea (pygmy grass blue) is the smallest butterfly in Malaysia. It is common in the coastal areas and lowland. It can often be seen fluttering among grasses and bushes on the edge of forest, villages and even in the city. Zizula hylax is widely distributed throughout south and southeast Asia, Australia, Madagascar and parts of Africa.

A tiny Zizula hylax larva feeds on Lantana camara flower buds. It is guarded by an ant and in return for the protection, the ant is rewarded with sugary liquid secreted by the larva, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

However, the ant is helpless against the attack by potter wasp. Paralyzed by the sting of the wasp,the larva will be fed to the larvae of the wasp, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia
